Stone Jetty

Artist: David Johnson

Wales is probably more famous for its Pits and Miners but along the North Coast are working quarries where Limestone and Granite deposits are worked. They leave behind large lagoons filled with the water runoff from the hills. The worked stone is sent by long conveyor belts over and under the coastal road and rail lines to jettys where small coasters tie up. This is one of the Jettys that reach out into Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast.
